We have over 200 tutors working across Aotearoa. We match you with a tutor that works in a local school. Our team is made up of experienced teachers, some are Heads of Departments, Heads of Year, NCEA markers, or Assistant Headteachers. All our tutors are passionate about helping their students succeed and love to see them grow in confidence, overcome challenges, and reach their goals. Here are just some of our wonderful teachers.

Chemistry

Alistair

Alistair teaches Scholarship Chemistry, IB Chemistry, and leads the Chemistry Olympiad at St Cuthbert’s College, with students achieving top national success. He also holds a Master of Teaching and Education Leadership and has served as an NCEA marker, supporting excellence in teaching and assessment.

Holly is a fully qualified early years and primary teacher with extensive experience supporting children with a wide range of learning needs. A warm and nurturing educator, Holly is passionate about creating positive, engaging learning experiences that build children’s confidence, skills and love of learning.

Crystalline is a bubbly, warm and highly engaging intermediate teacher, currently teaching at Glenavon School. She is passionate about creating positive, inclusive learning environments where every student feels valued, supported and empowered to succeed. With a strong focus on building meaningful relationships, she tailors her teaching to meet the individual needs of each learner through innovative, differentiated strategies that make learning both enjoyable and effective.

Adam

Adam is a passionate and knowledgeable secondary Geography and History teacher with experience teaching across a range of year levels and abilities. Liziana teaches Science and Biology at Edgewater College, where she also serves as Hillary Whānau Leader. She has extensive experience teaching NCEA Levels 1–3, with a strong focus on creating positive and engaging learning experiences. Passionate about supporting every ākonga to succeed and is known for her warm, student-centred approach.

Samantha

Samantha is a specialist in the early years of primary, currently teaching Year 1 at Royal Oak Primary School. With over 10 years of experience in early childhood and junior primary education, she is passionate about creating nurturing, play-based, and inclusive classrooms where tamariki build strong core foundations in literacy and numeracy.

Languages 

Bec

Bec is an experienced Spanish and French teacher at Saint Kentigern College. Passionate about languages and global cultures, she creates engaging, immersive learning experiences for her students. With over 15 years of teaching experience across New Zealand, the UK, and Spain, she is highly experienced in NCEA, IB, and Cambridge Spanish. Bec also works in Middle Management, supporting student wellbeing, and is an NZQA contractor for examination development and assessment.

Diego is an experienced Maths and Statistics teacher, currently Assistant Head of Mathematics at Takapuna Grammar School. He teaches NCEA Levels 1–3 and Scholarship Statistics and is a true expert in his field. He is known for relatable explanations of tricky concepts, helping students achieve excellence.

Kelsey

Kelsey is the second-in-command of the English Department at Marist College. With extensive experience teaching Years 9–13, she is known for her engaging teaching style, creative curriculum leadership, and commitment to helping every student reach their full potential.

James

James is an experienced Science and Biology teacher at Rangitoto College with extensive experience teaching NCEA Levels 1–3. Jo

Joanna is a highly experienced educator with nearly 30 years in education, specialising in literacy, curriculum design, and personalised learning. Currently teaching at Manakau School while also leading curriculum development projects, she combines extensive classroom expertise with a deep understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum. As a trained Reading Recovery teacher and experienced curriculum designer, Joanna excels at identifying each student's individual learning needs and creating engaging, evidence-based programmes that accelerate progress. Casey is a Chemistry teacher at Saint Kentigern College, teaching senior Chemistry across both NCEA and IB, as well as junior Science. She holds a First Class Honours degree in Medicinal Chemistry. Casey is also an NCEA external marker, giving her strong insight into what students need to achieve top results. She is warm, knowledgeable, and excellent at helping students build confidence and success.

Rachel is Teacher in Charge of Chemistry at Otago Boys' High School, where she helps raise achievement across the subject. She has extensive experience teaching senior Chemistry and Science, and has also worked with the Ministry of Education supporting the NCEA refresh. Rachel is an NZQA moderator and Scholarship Chemistry check marker, giving her excellent insight into assessment success.

Gemma

Gemma is a highly experienced Chemistry specialist with over 15 years of teaching experience across New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Kate

Kate is a warm and highly experienced primary teacher who is passionate about helping children feel confident, supported, and excited about learning. She is also a mentor teacher, supporting overseas trained teachers as they begin their teaching journey in New Zealand. Japanese & English

Sundeia

Sundeia a CELTA-qualified ESOL tutor with over four years’ experience living and working in Japan, and I studied Japanese at university. I have recently completed the JLPT N3 level and have tutored both children and adults in beginner Japanese. My teaching focuses on individual learning goals, and I support learners with reading, writing, listening, speaking, and grammar up to JLPT N4 level. I am continually studying Japanese myself and am deeply passionate about the language, culture, and people. I have many Japanese friends and regularly host Japanese guests in our home. I currently work as an ESOL and relief teacher at two high schools.

Caitlyn has extensive experience supporting children with diverse learning needs, including ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, anxiety, trauma, and ESL.
